School History

Nestled in the heart of the Houston Heights, Eugene Field Elementary has been a proud part of the community since 1929. Often referred to as the “Pink School on Studewood,” our campus was named in honor of beloved poet Eugene Field, known for his writings celebrating childhood. Located on East 17th Street, Field Elementary has served generations of Heights families, evolving over the decades while remaining deeply rooted in tradition, community, and a commitment to educational excellence.
